NFL Picks Week 3

Two NFL weeks have been played (hopefully NFL bettors have done well ) as NFL week 3 is set to be played. NFL picks for week 3 show a lot of promise and several NFL situational advantages may present themselves to be worthy of a wager before game time. NFL Week 3 has many divisional match-ups that are surely to be NFL classics before the week is through. This is the second last week of the early 2011 NFL football season before there is bye week for teams, offering less NFL games to bet on for upcoming weeks.

Before the 2011 NFL season started, the games listed below showed the strongest NFL situational advantages:

  • The NFL pick of the week for week 3 may lean towards the Philadelphia Eagles to cover against the spread as they host division rival New York Giants in a classic NFC East clash. The Philadelphia Eagles are a whopping 6-0 in the last six meetings against the Giants. Eli Manning and company may be hard pressed to keep up with the high flying Eagles offense, who can put points on the board very fast and move the pigskin at will. Because this match-up is a divisional game wager, Vegas odds makers could present a short line of -5 of less in favor of the Eagles; On a short line, the Philadelphia Eagles hold a strong NFL situational advantage to cover the point spread versus the Giants in week 3.

  • Possibly big trouble for the Buffalo Bills in week three as superstar quarterback Tom Brady and the New England Patriots roll into town. The Patriots have owned the Buffalo Bills in recent years against the spread having covered seven of the last nine games between the two teams and have covered the point spread line 7 in row in Buffalo. NFL handicappers can (in most likely event) possibly expect a double digit opening point spread line in favor of the powerhouse New England Patriots, which should come as no surprise should the ATS be double digits nearing game time. Many NFL betting players may be weary of a double digit point spread line, but should the line be fewer than two touchdowns, a strong NFL situational advantage may lay in favor of the New England Patriots to cover against the spread in Buffalo. If the point spread line is greater than 2 full touchdowns on NFL Sunday week 3, NFL gamblers should use extreme caution as a “blow out” for the Patriots could occur, but probabilities may show otherwise.

Good luck to all NFL handicapping players in selecting winning NFL picks for week 3.

Football’s appeal comes from the vicarious joys of seeing huge men racing around a field trying to knock each other’s heads off, right? Not for the millions of people who grew up on the Sunday-morning highlight shows compiled by NFL films (which, through the magic of cable, can now be seen pretty much whenever you turn the TV on). The stylized slow-motion storytelling made the violence seem like a…
